ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Feb. 26, 2017)-The Morgan State women's tennis team dropped two non-conference matches over the weekend at the Naval Academy. The Lady Bears first lost to Seton Hall, 6-1 on Saturday, before falling to host Navy, 6-1 on Sunday. Both matches were played at the Tose Family Tennis Center.

In the first match against Seton Hall, the Lady Bears' lone win came from
Danielle Thompson, who earned a No. 3 singles victory over the Pirates' Melody Tall 6-3, 7-5.

On Sunday, Morgan State (0-11) nearly picked up its first victory of the season on Sunday against the host Midshipmen, but fell 4-3.

The Lady Bears and Navy (9-7) split the singles matches and Navy claimed the doubles' point for the win.

Katia Jordan bounced back to defeat Amanda Keller of Navy, 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-7) to win at No. 1 singles.
Danielle Thompson and
Kayla Price both won in straight sets in their matches. Thompson earned a No. 3 victory over Audrey Channell 6-0, 7-5 and Price defeated Rozel Hernandez 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 4 position.

Jordan and Price were paired together at No. 1 doubles and defeated Navy's team of Channell and Danika Kahatapitiya 7-5

The Lady Bears return to the courts on Saturday, March 4, when they take travel to Hempstead, N.Y. to take on Hofstra. Â
