Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 11, 2017)-The Morgan State women's basketball team picked up its second consecutive victory, following a 74-47 thumping of Delaware State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Hill Field House. The win was the fourth straight for Morgan State over Delaware State, as the Lady Bears improved to 34-40 all-time against the Hornets.
The 74 points scored by Morgan State were the second most by the Lady Bears this season, since they scored a season-best 79 points against Washington Adventist (11/17) in the second game of the season.
For the first time this season, Morgan State (4-19, 2-8 MEAC) was clicking on all cylinders and played a complete game. All five Lady Bear starters reached double figures for the first time this season.

Jihayah Chavis and
Braennan Farrar each scored a team-high 12 points, while
Chelsea Mitchell and
Tykyrah Williams both added 10 points, as Morgan's starting lineup by themselves outscored Delaware State, 56-47.
Janessa Fauntroy came off the bench and scored a season-high eight points for the Lady Bears on a perfect 3-for-3 shooting, including 2-for-2 from the free throw line in eight minutes of play. White led the Lady Bears with a game-high eight rebounds and Williams added seven, as the Lady Bears held a 45-38 rebounding advantage over Delaware State.
Morgan State finished the game shooting 40 percent (25-of-57) from the floor and connected on 27-of-37 (73 percent) from the charity stripe.
D'Jhai Patterson-Ricks and Farrar were both 6-for-6 from the free throw line and Williams knocked down 8-of-10 free throws for the Lady Bears.
Delaware State (3-22, 2-10 MEAC), who had now lost its last four consecutive games, was led by Mikah Aldridge's game-high 16 points. Kia Abrams added seven points and Lanayjha Ashe pulled down a team-high six rebounds.
The Lady Bears held Delaware State to just seven first quarter points and carried a 36-17 lead at the intermission. Morgan State used an 8-2 run capped off by a layup from Fauntroy to give the hosts their largest lead of the game at 34 points (65-31) with 7:11 to play in the game.
Delaware State finished the game shooting 29 percent (15-of-51) from the field and was 2-for-16 (12 percent) from three-point range. The Hornets were 15-of-28 (53 percent) from the free throw line.
The Lady Bears return to action on Monday, Feb. 13, when they travel to the Nation's Capital to take on the Howard Lady Bison. Tip-off is at 6 p.m. at Burr Gymnasium in Washington, D.C. Howard is coming off a 67-62 road victory at Hampton on Saturday. It was the first win for the Lady Bison at Hampton since a 71-70 victory at Hampton on Jan. 21, 2002.
