BALTIMORE, Md. (Nov. 26, 2017)-The Morgan State women's basketball team returns to the court later this afternoon when it welcomes Mount St. Mary's to Hill Field House. Tip-off for Sunday's non-conference action is at 2 pm.
This will be the 15th overall meeting between the two programs with the all-time series evened at 7-7.
Last season the Mountaineers defeated Morgan State, 65-50 in Emmitsburg, Md. in the season opener for the Lady Bears. Caroline Hummell scored a career-high 28 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the win. Hummell went 8-for-12 from the field and 9-for-14 at the foul line in the contest. Mikal Johnson added 19 points to help pace the Mountaineer offense.
Braennan Farrar led the Lady Bears with 14 points, while Tykyrah Williams pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds and led the team with a game-high four steals. As a team the Lady Bears forced 23 Mount St. Mary's turnovers with 13 coming by way of steals.
Morgan State (2-3) is coming off a 90-46 loss to Iowa in the Puerto Rico Clasico in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. on Nov. 26.
Braennan Farrar led Morgan State with 13 points, while Tykyrah Williams finished with 11. Lexus Spears and Farrar each pulled down a team-high five rebounds.
Farrar has paced Morgan State with 14.2 points per game, while WilÂliams (11.0 ppg) and Adre'onia Coleman (10.0) are also averaging double figures. As a team, the Lady Bears are averaging 69.8 points per contest and shooting .402 from the field.
Mount St. Mary's (0-4) enters the contest coming off a 76-65 loss at Fairfield. Kayla Agentowicz shot 10-of-15 from the field and 4-for-5 from three-point range to score a career-high 24 points in the loss. Ashlee White added 12 points and Katrice Dickson chipped in with 11 to help pace the Mountaineers.
White and Agentowicz have led the Mount in scoring, averaging 10.8 and 10.5 points per game, respectively. White has logged double-digit points in three of four games, while Agentowicz' 24-point output was her first in double figures this season. Juliette Lawless leads the Mount with 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest.
