GameDay | Audio | Live Stats

BALTIMORE, Md. (Nov. 14, 2017)-Fresh off its school-record 123-point outing in its home opening win on Monday over Division II Cheyney (123-53), Morgan State will welcome another Division II opponent in Lincoln-Pa. to Hill Field House on Wednesday evening for a non-conference game at 6 p.m.

MSU VS. LINCOLN-PA. SERIES NOTES: This will be the eighth meeting between the two schools with Morgan State holding a 6-1 all-time series lead. The Lions and Morgan State last met during the 2013-14 campaign with the Lincoln shocking Morgan State, 94-86 in overtime on Nov. 15, 2013.

FLASH BACK (Nov. 15, 2013): Morgan State's Tracey Carrington scored a career- and game-high 34 points and added a game-high five steals, but it wasn't enough, as the Lady Bears dropped their home- and season-opener to Division II opponent, Lincoln-Pa., 94-86 in overtime at Hill Field House. Carrington, who scored 23 of her points in the first half, ended the game shooting 9-of-22 from the field and connected on 15-of-17 from the free throw line. However, Carrington's performance would be overshadowed in the loss by Zephrah Pam's double-double outing of a career- and team-high 28 points and game-high 15 rebounds for the Lady Lions. Pam, who scored a combined 19 of her points in the second half and overtime period, shot 9-of-16 from the floor and was 10-of-17 from the charity line. Baltimore native Cynthia Johnson had a productive homecoming, coming off the bench to record 18 points, six rebounds, three steals and three assists, while Courtney Smith added 12 points to help Lincoln overcome a 20-point second half deficit to help Lincoln to its greatest win in program history, as well as the Lady Lions first-ever win over a Division I opponent in program history.

NEXT UP: Morgan State will take to the road this Friday, Nov. 17, when they travel to Dayton, Ohio to take on the Dayton Flyers. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. from UD Arena.

LAST TIMEOUT: Seniors Braennan Farrar and Tykyrah Williams each shot 10-of-11 from the floor and knocked down all three of their three-pointer attempts, as the Lady Bears handed Cheyney a 123-53 thumping in the home opener at Hill Field House. It was the first meeting between the two teams since Morgan State defeated the Wolves, 74-43 during the 1992-93 season. Division II Cheyney still leads the all-time series, 10-6. Farrar would finish with a game-high 25 points, while Williams had 24. Fellow senior Lexus Spears scored 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting. Tayler Miller came off the bench to score 13 points and Jihayah Chavis added 12 points in a reserve role. There were several notables about Monday's record setting performance. The 123 points are the most points ever scored by a Morgan State women's team, surpassing the previous school record of 115 points against the University of Baltimore (1/17/83). The 70-point victory is the second largest win in school history behind an 82-point (102-20) victory over Coppin State (2/13/77). The 49 made field goals are the most by a Lady Bears' team since the program moved to the Division I level for the 1983-84 season. The Lady Bears (1-1) shot 71 percent (49-of-69) from the floor, including 12-of-16 (75 percent) from three-point range. Farrar and Chavis each had eight assists, as the Lady Bears recorded 28 as a team. Morgan State also forced 33 Cheyney turnovers, 20 of which were steals. Morgan State led 71-14 at the intermission.
