BALTIMORE, Md. (April 8, 2016)-Norfolk State has officially moved the start of this weekend's three-game Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference softball series against Morgan State from Saturday, April 9 to Sunday, April 10 due to adverse wind conditions expected for Saturday.
Â
The host Norfolk State Spartans (10-16, 5-2 MEAC) and the Morgan State Lady Bears (9-20, 4-2 MEAC) will now play only the doubleheader portion of the series on Sunday, beginning at noon at the NSU Softball Field. The third and final game has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 7 in Norfolk, Va. The start time has yet to be announced.
Â
The Lady Bears, who are riding a season-long four-game winning streak, enter Sunday's contest with a 10-28 all-time record against the Spartans, including 13 straight losses. Since Norfolk State moved into the MEAC Northern Division prior to the 2012 season, the Spartans have swept Morgan State each of the previous four seasons.
Â
Morgan State's last win over Norfolk State came on Feb. 25, 2011, a 9-1 victory over the Spartans in five innings in the opener of the Norfolk State Tournament.
