Sunday’s Softball Finale Against UMES To Be Played At Coppin State

BALTIMORE, Md. (April 23, 2016)-The Morgan State softball team will conclude its three-game Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) series against the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on Sunday, April 24 with the third game of the finale being played at Coppin State Softball Field on the campus of Coppin State University. First pitch will be at 3 p.m.

The Lady Bears (12-24, 7-6 MEAC) swept Saturday's doubleheader against the Lady Hawks, winning the first game by the score of 2-1 in eight innings on a walk-off homer by Damali Young, before completing the sweep with a 7-0 victory in Game 2. Both contests were played at CCBC Dundalk Softball Field. The win was just the second doubleheader sweep over an opponent and MEAC series victory for Morgan State this season.

With the wins, Morgan State now needs one more victory, coupled by one more loss by Coppin State, in order to advance to its first MEAC Postseason Tournament appearance since 2011.

Prior to the Morgan State-UMES contest on Sunday, the Lady Eagles of Coppin State (6-27, 4-10 MEAC) will conclude their weekend series against Hampton at noon at Coppin State Softball Field.
