BALTIMORE, Md. (March 30, 2016)-The Morgan State women's tennis team dropped its home opener on Saturday afternoon to visiting Saint Joseph's, 4-3 at the MSU Tennis Courts.
The visiting Hawks, who snapped their six-match losing skid with the win, opened up the match winning all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point.
Morgan State (3-7) would regroup to win three of the five singles matches, but would eventually fall to the Hawks by a point, by way of dropping the sixth match by default.
The Lady Bears'
Danielle Thompson defeated Maureen Devlin 7-6 (5), 6-4 at No. 2 singles and
Cierra Plummer earned a 3-6, 6-2, 10-8 victory at No. 4.
Chelsi Russell defeated Arianne Polatnick of Saint Joseph's, 7-6 (4), 2-6, 7-5 in a No. 5 match.
The Lady Bears return to action on Wednesday, March 30, when they travel to Emmitsburg, Md. to take on Mount St. Mary's in a non-conference match at 3 p.m.
