BALTIMORE, Md. (Oct. 30, 2016)-Morgan State's lone senior,
Haley McClure, closed out her final career match at Hill Field House on Sunday afternoon with a match-high 16 kills, to lead the Lady Bears to a 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-12) sweep of visiting Delaware State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division contest for Senior Day.

The match was also the Lady Bears seventh annual Dig Pink contest to help raise funds for breast cancer research.
Â
A native of Ashburn, Va., McClure tallied a .324 hitting percentage, eight digs, two service aces, a block and an assist in her home finale.
Keana Browne added 14 kills and recorded a hitting percentage of .440, while
Natashia Barker finished with nine kills and a career- and match-high 20 digs.
Roi Wallace had a match-high 35 assists.

Morgan State improved to 6-19 overall and 6-4 in the MEAC and remained in third-place in the standings with the win. The Lady Bears, who upped their record to 43-14 all-time against Delaware State, are now one victory away from securing a spot in the upcoming MEAC Championship (Nov. 18-20) in Princess Anne, Md.

The Lady Bears dominated the match, recording 45 kills for a .252, 54 digs and 40 assists, compared to 18 kills, a .000 hitting percentage, 39 digs and 15 assists. Â

Delaware State (1-25, 1-9 MEAC) was led by Sabina Szmajduch's team-high eight kills. Alliyah McBean finished with 14 digs, while Gabriella Enriguez totaled a team-high 14 assists, before having to leave with an injury.

Leading 2-0 heading into what would be the third and final set, the two teams stayed close early on. The Lady Bears held a 4-1 lead, before the Hornets scored three straight to even the score at 4-4. Delaware State used another 3-0 spurt to take a 7-6 lead, but Morgan State would score six straight to take a 15-10 lead.

The Lady Bears were not done, as they put together a 9-0 run with McClure scoring the final three points to give the hosts a 24-11 lead. The Hornets would prolong the match by a point, before McClure fittingly ended the set and match with her fourth straight kill and final collegiate kill at home to give Morgan State the 25-12 victory.

Morgan State will travel to Washington, D.C. to take on defending champion and division leader Howard on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. at Burr Gymnasium.
