HAMPTON, Va. -- Jaylian Williamson threw two touchdown passes, caught a TD pass on a trick play, and Hampton outlasted Morgan State for a 21-12 win on Saturday.
After Morgan State fumbled a punt snap on its opening possession, Hampton (3-3, 3-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic) wide receiver Twarn Mixson found Williamson for a 15-yard score with 7:40 left in the first quarter.
Morgan State (2-3, 2-1) answered with a Ladarious Spearman 19-yard TD grab from Chris Andrews less than four minutes later to make it 7-6 after a missed extra point.
Hampton led 14-12 at halftime after trading touchdowns in the second quarter. Morgan State failed to make up the extra point miss with a two-point conversion.
Williamson's second passing TD went to Jack Willenbrock for 11 yards with 9:49 remaining to give the Pirates a 21-12 lead - the lone score for either team in the second half.
Andrews threw for 172 yards and two TDs for the Bears.
