BALTIMORE, Md. – Morgan State men's tennis suffered a 4-1 setback to the visiting Georgetown Hoyas on Thursday afternoon at MSU's Tennis Courts.
MSU dropped its fourth home match of the season and avoided a shutout as a result of
Duk Young-Park's 6-2, 6-4 lone Bear victory over Alex Tropiano at the No. 2 position. The senior improved his single's record to 6-3 overall, and is 6-1 against No. 2 singles.
The Bears fall to 1-9 on the season with the loss.
Andre dropped the first set of singles action 6-0 to No. 3 Peter Beatty and then fell 6-3 in the second. Sagar Sathyanaryan fell to Jordan Portner at No. 5 by a score of 6-1, 6-1. The Hoyas closed-out singles as Mac Rechan shutout
William Jay 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
In doubles play, the duo of Beatty and John Brosens were victorious over
Duk Young-Park and
Evan Ward, 7-6(6), from the No. 1 spot. Andrew Dottino and Shane Korber took down Andre and
Treajh Ferguson, 6-4, from the No. 2 slot.
The Bears return to Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action when they host the Howard Bison on Saturday, April 4
th. The match is set to start at 1 p.m.
