2014 VMC HOF Nomination FormBALTIMORE, Md. – The Varsity "M" Club, Inc. of Morgan State University held its 24
th Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony on Friday, November, 2014, at the Best Western Plus Towson/Baltimore North. The Club added six new inductees with the 2014 induction class, which included: former football players Earl Mayo and James Dozier; former track and field stars Jack Pierce and Wendy Vereen-Christopher; softball player
Tanisha Kemp; and former football and track & field dual threat Michael Holston.

Brief bios of each inductee:
Earl Mayo, Football (1963-1966)Mayo led the Bears backfield as the starting right halfback during its 20 game winning streak spanning the 1964-1966 seasons. He was a First-Team All-CIAA selection in 1966.
James Dozier, Football (1988-1991)Dozier was a two time First-Team All-MEAC selection, and was selected as the MEAC Defensive Player of the Year in 1990. He set the record for most sacks in a game (4.5) and most sacks in a season (14.5), which stood until this season.
Tanisha Kemp, Softball (1996-1999)Kemp was a four time First-Team All-MEAC selection and two time All-American selection. In 1996 she won the covenant MEAC Rookie of the Year award, was selected as the 1997 MEAC Player of the Year and was the 1998 MEAC Player of the Year runner up. Kemp led the NCAA in twelve individual statistical categories during her career and still holds thirteen Morgan season and career statistical records.
Michael Holston, Football/Track and Field (1978-1981)Holston, recruited to Morgan as a track and field athlete, left his imprint on Bear athletic history in a short period time. In football, he was selected to the first annual Sheridan Black College All-Star game in 1981, and he still owns the record for most receptions in a game (12). Holston was the last Morgan football player drafted in the NFL draft until Visanthe Shainco in 2003.
Jack Pierce, Track and Field (1980 - 1984) Pierce was a stand out track and field star for the Bears, winning an NCAA hurdles title and was acclaimed the outstanding performer at the Penn Relays as a senior. He left Morgan as the eighth-ranked hurdler in the country and still holds the individual school record for the 110m hurdles (13.20) and team records for the 4x100m relay, 4x200m relay and the 4x400m relay.
Wendy Vereen-Christopher (1984-1988)Vereen-Christopher made significant contributions to the Morgan track and field legacy as both an individual and relay team competitor. She still holds school records in the Women's outdoor 200m (22.7), 4x100m relay (44.47), the 4x200m relay (1:32.50) and the 4x400m relay (3:31.71).
