LANDOVER, Md. - Morgan State junior standout Emmanuel Stewart won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference weight throw title with a personal best toss of 18.93m to help the Bears to a 10th-place team finish at the 2013 MEAC Indoor Championships held at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex located in Landover, Md.
Stewart was once again the top performer of the day for the Bears, capturing a total of 10 points for the Bears' team score. The Trinidad native not only successfully defended his weight throw title, but he also eclipsed the previous conference record of 18.01m that he set last year.
It was Stewart's second individual victory of the indoor season.
Norfolk State finished the meet with 152.50 points, outpacing Hampton (85 pts) in the final team standing to take home its eighth consecutive MEAC conference title. Bethune-Cookman placed third with 76 points and N.C. A&T placed 60. The Bears finished the meet with 25 points and placed 10th.

60m Hurdles - Christian Boateng placed seventh with a time of 8.10.
3000m Run - Christian Smooth completed his race in 10th place with a time of 9.19.61.
High Jump - Kenyon Wright captured two points by virtue of a seventh-place finish in the high jump clearing the bar at 1.96m (6-05.00).
Distance Medley - Harold Lamour, Wesley Redfearn, DeAndre Robinson and William Campbell recorded a time of 10:34.16 to finish in sixth place and collected three points for the team.
Long Jump - Nigel Thompson picked up three points by finishing sixth in the long jump recording a leap of 6.72m.
Heptathlon - Keith Davis (4180 points) placed ninth, while Bethune-Cookman's Keron Stoute was the champion with 4659 points.
