GAME TIME

The Bears (5-4, 4-2) will celebrate "Senior Day" when they take on conference leader #22 Norfolk State on Saturday (Nov. 12) at Hughes Stadium. Bethune-Cookman eased past Morgan State 49-23 last Saturday before a Homecoming crowd in Daytona. Norfolk State (8-2, 6-1) clinched at least a share of its first-ever Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference football title with a 45-3 win over Savannah State, and will attempt to clinch its first outright MEAC championship and earn the conference's automatic berth in the FCS playoffs. MSU on the other hand, still has a shot at a share of the MEAC title with a win against Norfolk State and Hampton. Game time at Hughes Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m. and there will be a live radio broadcast of the game on WEAA, 88.9 FM.

THE BEAR-SPARTANS MATCHUP
• The Bears and Spartans will meet for the 24th time in history ... Norfolk State leads the series 13-10 since 1965.
• During their last matchup, MSU's redshirt freshman quarterback Delonte "Smoke" Williams completed 14-of-29 passes for 142 yards, including a TD and an interception late in the game to help seal the victory for the Spartans.
• The last time the two teams met in Baltimore was on November 7, 2009.  MSU's defense had an uncharacteristically poor night on their side of the ball. The defense gave up 379 total yards of offense to the Spartans, including 215 passing yards by NSU quarterback Dennis Brown. Brown finished with two touchdowns to help lead the Spartans to 31-23 win on "Senior Night" at Hughes Stadium.
• Norfolk State has won five of the last six meetings against the Bears, including a current streak of four straight since 2007.

QUICK HITS
•  True freshman quarterback Seth Higgins completed 15 of 26 passes for 178 yards, including two touchdowns and he had two passes intercepted.
Travis Davidson had a 44-yard rushing touchdown and rushed for a game-high 133 yards on 17 carries to lead Morgan State.
•  Sophomore CB Kenneth Riddley collected his fourth interception of the season, marking the 10th INT (MEAC No. 4) of the season for the Bears.
• Saturday's game pits Norfolk State's top-ranked pass offense (220.8 avg/g) in the MEAC against the Bears' No. 3 ranked pass defense (179.1 avg/g).
•  The Bears surrendered seven rushing touchdowns in the loss to Bethune last Saturday.
