Morgan State came out very excited and ready to play, but seemed to be discouraged by the Spartans fast paced play and vocal emotions.
“It was a poor display of volleyball,” said Morgan State head coach Ramona Riley-Bozier. “It's been too many mistakes all the way around, our setters aren't doing a good job of getting the ball to the middle,” added Bozier. “I just can't think of any positive things to say about tonight.”
The Spartans finished the match with 44 kills on 89 attempts with 10 errors and had a hitting percentage of .382. The Bears picked up 19 kills, not even half of what the Spartans tallied, along with 21 attack errors out of 93 attempts with a percentage of -.022. The Spartans and Lady Bears both finished with an equal amount of five service errors.
The Lady Bears are hopeful to end this losing streak tomorrow when they face the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs at 12:30 p.m. and the Norfolk State Spartans at 5 p.m.
