DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Antonio Webb came up big in the clutch by draining a dramatic three-pointer at the buzzer to give Bethune-Cookman a huge 73-71 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference victory Saturday in Moore Gymnasium.

Behind the long-range shooting of Sam Brand, Morgan scored eight unanswered points to take a 71-70 lead on a Brand three-pointer with 7.8 seconds to go.

But Webb brought the ball up and launched his game-winner with two Bear defender on him. It was his fourth clutch shot of the season.

"I wasn't going to pass the ball,'' Webb admitted. "As soon as he [Brand] made that bucket, I thought `okay, here we go.'

"Every player in America lives for this kind of opportunity,'' Webb said. "I grew up on the playground so that's all you want to do, be like Michael Jordan at the end of the game.''

B-CC (12-12 overall, 8-6 conference) led by as 11 points in the second half, but horrendous free throw shooting (25 percent) and the shooting of Brand (27 points, including six three-pointers) gave Morgan State (11-14,9-6) a window of opportunity.

"If we have an Achilles heel, it's our free throws,'' said B-CC coach Clifford Reed. "It wouldn't have come down to one shot if we hit the free shows early. And you have to give Brand a lot of credit for making his shots.

"I told Antonio that if they [Morgan], we're clearing the way for him and to just go,'' Reed added.

Cleveland Williams, discovered by Reed in an intramural game, led the Wildcats with a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds.

"Along with Webb's ability to make plays, Cleveland was the difference tonight,'' Reed said.

Diondre Larmond and Nicholas Berry each scored 14 for B-CC, and Webb 11.

MSU's Ron Timus collected a double-double for the Bears by hauling down down 10 rebounds and scoring 16 points. Aaron Andrews chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds and dished out two assists.
