Box Score

The Morgan State University Lady Bears (3-25, 3-15 MEAC) saw their 2003/04 season come to an end with an 81-52 loss to Bethune-Cookman College in the MEAC Tournament.

The Lady Bears suffered the defeat in the opening round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament at the Arthur Ashe Center in Richmond, VA.

MSU fell behind early, but battled back late in the 1st half before a B-CC run gave the Lady Wildcats a comfortable cushion at the half.

Sharonda Watson hit a jumper with 8:41 left in the half to bring the Lady Bears to within 3 at 21-18. That would be as close as MSU would get.

B-CC closed the half with a 17-1 run to take a 35-19 lead into the locker room at intermission.

The Lady Bears were unable to make a serious run in the 2nd half.

Watson led the way for MSU with 20 points, while freshman Whitney Johnson poured in 14 points.

Sarissa Gaskins had a team high 6 rebounds.

B-CC was led by Katie Clark who had a 20 point game.

MSU finishes the season with more wins than they've had since the 2000/01 season.
