Biography

At A Glance: Was one of three transfers from a year ago and made an immediate impact on the team’s success. Led Morgan State in service aces with 59, while ranking 18th in the nation at 0.58 aces per game.

2006 At Morgan State (Junior): Played in 102 games and led the team in service aces with 59, which ranked 18th in the nation at 0.58 aces per game...Hit for 1.000 three times…Had a career-high eight kills with 10 digs and two aces against Howard (10/31)...Totaled seven kills and a career-high 15 digs in win vs. Hampton (10/22)...Tallied a career-high six service aces and added six digs at Howard (10/5)...Collected 11 digs, two aces and her first assist of the season at Air Force (8/28) to help the Lady Bears to their first win of the season.

At Schoolcraft College: Earned NJCAA All-Region XII first team and All-Michigan Community College Athletic Association honors and was named to the All-MCCAA Eastern Conference...Finished second on the team in kills (384), tied for second in blocks (42) and fourth in digs with 335...Named team MVP in 2005...Was coached by Tom Tetters.

High School: Was a four-sport letterwinner in volleyball, basketball, soccer and track while at St. Francis Xavier Secondary School…Helped the Tiger’s volleyball team to a Region of Peel Secondary School Athletic Association Tier 2 championship as a junior…Earned volleyball MVP honors during her freshman-junior seasons and was named the school’s Athlete of the Year in 2002…Received the Ontario Award of Excellence in 2001…Was the recipient of the technological award in 2001…A member of the Black History Club.

Personal: Born on Feb. 5, 1986, in Kingston, Jamaica, W.I….Daughter of Marcia Brown…Major is sociology…Career ambition is to become a criminal or corporate attorney…Volunteered her time in the activities department of Extendicare Nursing Home…Hobbies include traveling, dancing, watching movies and playing sports.

Coach Bozier Says: “Another small player who is capable of playing big. Although Teneika has a good swing, she will be competing for the libero position.”
