"We are very pleased to welcome Miss Hess to our sports medicine team," said Olenek. "Graduating from Messiah University's athletic training programs, she will bring fresh ideas to the department. Welcome Bayley to MSU!"
Â
Hess comes to Morgan State after spending nearly the past two years in both the collegiate and high school setting as a student athletic trainer at Mount St. Mary's University, Elizabethtown College, Bishop McDevitt High School, Northern York High School and Dover High School. While at those locations, Hess worked with a variety of sports including football, rugby, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, wrestling, volleyball, water polo, softball and baseball.
Â
Hess also spent several months at Wellspan Health-Sport Center Rehabilitation, where she worked in the physical therapy clinic as an athletic training student assisting with patient rehabilitation of injuries.
Â
A native of Liverpool, Pa., Hess graduated from Messiah University with a bachelor's degree in applied health science in 2023 and recently received a master's degree in athletic training in 2024, also from Messiah.
Â
During her undergraduate years at Messiah, Hess spent time as a work study student in the sports medicine department, preparing venues for practices and games and assisting the athletic trainers. She also competed on the Falcons' track and field team.
