Bear Bits:  Emerged from spring drills as a player to watch in the Bears’ secondary. Harris, who was a dynamic special teams player last season, will have a more expanded role this fall.

As a Redshirt Junior in 2016: saw action in every game (11) ... posted 23 tackles (12 solo) with a tackle for loss ... recorded two pass defenses ... 

As a Redshirt Sophomore in 2015: saw action in every game ... finished the season with 11 tackles (8 solo) and a QB hurry ... recorded a fumble recovery at Delaware State (Oct. 3) ... 

Has a Redshirt Freshman in 2014: saw action in 12 games … served as a backup cornerback and played on the special teams unit … recorded 10 tackles (5 solo) … had four stops against Delaware State (Nov. 22) …

High School: prep standout at Douglass HS … won 2010 4-A Championship under coach Willis Alexander Harris … won League Championship in 2011… selected All-State … recorded 3 INTs with 60 tackles as a senior, in addition to rushing for 300 yards and 3 TDs ... earned 4-A Defensive Player of the Year … Little Oklahoma Defensive Player of the Year … selected as the team’s Defensive Player of the Year … helped lead squad to basketball State Championship … had 41 carries for 251 career rushing yards … 206 total tackles, 7 interceptions and three touchdowns …

Personal: son of Terry Harris, Sr. and Roxann Smith … born June 19, 1995 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma … his mother is a special education teacher and his father is a cement truck driver … is related to Matt Forte (Chicago Bears), Curtis Michael (USC) and Billy Sims (Heisman Trophy Winner w/ Oklahoma) … has two siblings ... credits his family for playing a major role in his life … career ambition is to play in the NFL, become a special education teacher and a high school football coach.
