Reuben Green

Reuben Green III is a highly experienced and dedicated Strength and Conditioning Coach at Morgan State University. With over a decade of expertise in the field, he has played a pivotal role in the success of Morgan State Athletics since joining the university in 2018. As the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, Green oversees the strength and conditioning programs for multiple varsity sports, including men's basketball and men's and women's tennis as their Head Performance Coach. His contributions also extend to the football and track and field programs, where he provides valuable support and guidance.

Green’s expertise in strength training and conditioning played a role in the 2018 Northern Division Champion men's tennis team's triumph. Under his guidance, the team achieved the pinnacle of success by capturing both the MEAC and HBCU National Championships, cementing their place in the annals of the university's athletic history.

Green's unwavering commitment to his craft extended to the softball team, where he played a pivotal role in their 2021 MEAC Championship victory. His training programs focused on enhancing strength, power, and endurance, enabling the team to overcome formidable opponents and secure the coveted title.

Green's academic credentials are impressive, with a Bachelor of Science in Human Performance and Exercise Science from Youngstown State University, a Master of Education in Adult and Higher Education from the University of Sioux Falls, and a Master of Science in Exercise Science with a concentration in Sport Administration from the University of Akron. In addition to his academic achievements, Green holds numerous certifications that attest to his proficiency in various aspects of fitness and training. He is certified as a Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCCa - SCCC) and holds several other certifications, including NASM-PES, NASM-CES, USAW, and NASE-CSS.

Prior to joining Morgan, Green honed his coaching skills at the University of Akron and the University of Sioux Falls. At Akron, he played a pivotal role as a strength coach, contributing to the team's 2017 MAC East Division title and subsequent appearance in the Boca Raton Bowl.

Green's tenure at the University of Sioux Falls was equally impactful. He formed part of a football program that achieved remarkable success, finishing third nationally. His expertise extended beyond football, as he also worked closely with athletes from various sports, including track and field, soccer, golf, and cheerleading.

Green sharpened his coaching skills through a series of prestigious internships and successful stints leading various athletic programs. At Stanford University, Green played an integral role in the Foster Farms Bowl victory, demonstrating his strategic acumen and ability to inspire his team to triumph. He also successfully led programs in wrestling, men's volleyball, men's and women's diving, and men's gymnastics. 

During his tenure at Ohio State University, Green played a role in the success of the 2013 Women's Rowing National Championship team. At the University of North Texas, hiss impact was evident in the achievements of the women's soccer program. His guidance contributed to their success, while he also played a role in the triumph of the Heart of Dallas Bowl Champion football team in 2013.

Prior to his time at Ohio State and North Texas, Green had a brief stint at the University of Memphis in 2010, where he worked with the football program. His career began at Youngstown State University, where he honed his skills by coaching football and providing support to all varsity sports.
