Morgan State University Athletics

Tom DiStasio is entering his first season as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Morgan State University. He oversees all aspects of strength & conditioning and nutrition for MSU's fourteen (14) varsity sports programs. 
 
DiStasio has over ten years of coaching experience in both the collegiate and private setting.
 
Prior to Morgan State, DiStasio served as the Associate Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at California State University, Sacramento from 2011 to 2018. At Sacramento State, DiStasio assisted with the training of the Hornet Football team, and oversaw the strength and conditioning for Men's Basketball, Women's Volleyball, Gymnastics, Women's Soccer, Softball, Baseball, and Track and Field.
 
Prior to his time at Sacramento State, DiStasio worked as a Graduate Assistant at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Here he assisted with the Saluki Football and Men's Basketball team, and also oversaw Men's & Women's Swimming and Diving. DiStasio also led the strength and conditioning program for Men's Golf at SIU.

Before his Graduate Assistant position at Southern Illinois, DiStasio was an Undergraduate Strength and Conditioning Intern at Cornell University, helping with all of the varsity sports program while overseeing the training of the Varsity Sprint Football team.
 
Outside of the collegiate realm, DiStasio has been coaching/competing in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting for over fifteen years. As junior, DiStasio competed at a national level, and now as a USA Weightlifting Coach he coaches National Champions and Team USA International Lifters. Along with weightlifting, DiStasio played collegiate football at Cornell University.
 
DiStasio earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Biology and Nutrition, with a minor in Exercise Science from Cornell University. He then went on to get his Master of Science in Kinesiology: Exercise Science from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. 
 
Born May 3, 1988 in Syracuse, New York, DiStasio attended Christian Brothers Academy High School in Syracuse New York. DiStasio lives in Baltimore with his girlfriend Mary. He is the son of Marty and Ernie, and has one brother, Marcello.
