Tate Leavitt joins Morgan State University as offensive line coach for the 2026 season, becoming a member of Damon Wilson’s staff.

Before Morgan State, Leavitt spent the 2025 season at West Virginia Wesleyan College, where he served as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. Before that, he held multiple roles at Hocking College, including offensive coordinator (2023–24), run game coordinator, and offensive line coach (2020). In 2024, he also took on administrative responsibilities as Associate Head Football Coach and Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. Earlier in his career, Leavitt worked in compliance at Alderson Broaddus University.

Leavitt’s coaching resume also includes a stint as a student volunteer coach at Georgetown College in 2017 and as a graduate assistant at Indiana State University in 2019.
 
As a player, Leavitt began his collegiate career at Hutchinson Community College, where he earned 28 Division I scholarship offers. He went on to play two seasons at the University of Kentucky before transferring to Indiana State for his final season. There, he helped lead the Sycamores to a 7–4 overall record, a 5–3 conference mark, and a Top-25 national finish.

Following his collegiate career, Leavitt spent time professionally with the Columbus Destroyers of the Arena Football League.

Leavitt earned an associate degree in sports management from Hutchinson Community College, a bachelor’s degree in community and leadership development from Kentucky, and a master’s degree in physical education and coaching from Indiana State.

A native of Thornville, Ohio, Leavitt is married to his wife, Deserae.
