Josh Firm enters his first season as the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Morgan State. Firm served as the Bears’ recruiting coordinator/tight ends coach the previous two seasons. 

Firm came to the Bears after spending four years at the University of Wyoming under Coach Craig Bohl. During the 2016 and 2017 seasons Firm assisted Coach Scott Fuchs with the offensive line that was part of a Wyoming team that became Bowl eligible for a second consecutive season. This was accomplished for the first time since 1987-1988. In 2016 Wyoming won the Mountain West, Mountain Division, and played in the Conference Championship Game. The Cowboys earned a spot in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl and in 2017 the Cowboys were victorious in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

Josh earned the title of graduate assistant for recruiting for the Cowboys in 2015. As UW’s recruiting graduate assistant, he assisted the director of recruiting with all facets of the recruiting process, including: collecting player information for coaches review, assisting with on campus recruit visits, develop recruiting materials and assisting in scheduling recruiting visits and itineraries for the Wyoming coaching staff. In 2014, Firm began his service at the University of Wyoming as a recruiting Intern and helping with the quarterbacks.

From January 2014 to June 2014, Firm served as the offensive coordinator for the Bron-Villeurbanne Falcons in Lyon, France. In August of 2013, he returned to his alma mater, Missouri University of Science and Technology as an assistant coach for the running backs. He began his coaching career in the spring of 2013 as a player/coach for the Calanda Broncos in Chur, Switzerland. Josh was the starting QB/co-offensive coordinator and lead the Broncos to a 2013 Swiss National Championship.

Firm played his college football for Missouri University of Science and Technology where he was the Miners’ starting quarterback for the 2011 and 2012 seasons. Josh lead the Miners to a 10-1 season in 2012, and this was the best season in the 119 years of football at Missouri S&T. Firm went on to earn All Great Lakes Valley Conference honors along with the GLVC All-Academic Team award. Before transferring to Missouri S&T, Firm began his college playing career at Antelope Valley Community College in Lancaster California.  
 
Firm earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Information Systems from Missouri S&T in 2013, and received his Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Wyoming in 2018.
 
Josh currently resides in Baltimore.
