Jacoby Jones enters his first season as tight ends coach for the Bears.

Prior to joining Morgan State, Jones was hired as the wide receivers coach atĀ Calvert Hall College High School onĀ Oct 6, 2020.

Before Calvert Hall, heĀ spent two seasons asĀ an assistant coach at his alma mater Lane College. Jones coached the DragonsĀ wide receiversĀ from 2018-2019.

Jones arrived at Lane College in 2003 after transferring from Southeast Louisiana State. He played for the Dragons for three years before being drafted by the Houston Texans in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft.

Over his nine-year career, Jones had 203 receptions for 2,733 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also had five kickoff returns for touchdowns and four punt returns for touchdowns.

One of Jones' most notable plays came during Super Bowl XLVII. Jones returned a kickoff 108 yards for a touchdown as the Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers 34-31. He also caught a 56-yard touchdown pass. Jones finished the contest with a Super Bowl record 290 total yards.

He also played for theĀ San Diego ChargersĀ andĀ Pittsburgh SteelersĀ in 2015 and theĀ Monterrey SteelĀ of theĀ National Arena LeagueĀ in 2017.

He signed a one-day contract with the Ravens on September 29, 2017, officially retiring from football.Ā 

Jones quick feet also allowed him to complete and finish 3rdĀ in the television show ā€œDancing with the Stars.ā€

Jacoby Jones was born in New Orleans, Louisiana.Ā He attended St. Augustine High School and Marion Abramson High School in New Orleans.Ā At Abramson, he was a letterman in football, basketball and track. In basketball, he was an All-Metropolitan selection and an All-Area selection. In track, he was an All-Metropolitan selection and an All-Area selection.
