Anthony Binker enters his first season with the Bears as the special teams coordinator.
Prior to Morgan State, Binker spent three seasons as the running backs coach and special teams coordinator at John Carroll University.
In the 2018 season for the Blue Streaks, Binker served as the running backs coach and special teams coordinator. Binker coached sophomore RB Michael Canganelli was awarded second-team All-North Region and first-team All-OAC. He rushed for 1,293 yards on 234 carries. This was the fourth highest single season total yards in JCU history. On special teams, Binker coached K Matt Danko to a second-team All-OAC award after completing 9 of 16 field goals with his longest field goal made at 49 yards.
In the 2017 season, Binker served as the tight ends and special teams coach. Binker led the special teams to an incredible season. In the OAC, the Blue Streaks were ranked No. 2 in average yards per kick off with 59.5 yards and were No. 1 in kickoff return average with 25.6 yards. Binker coached TE Danny Disbrow to D3football.com second-team All-North Region, first-team All-OAC and K Matt Danko to second-team All-OAC.
Prior to John Carroll, Binker served on the University of Michigan football staff. In 2016, Binker worked with the special teams which were ranked No. 1 in efficiency in the FBS. He was responsible for the special teams drawings, gameplans, presentations, practice scripts, and depth charts.
In the 2015 season, Binker worked with the offense, specifically the quarterbacks, generating practice scripts, weekly pass game drawings, game day call sheet, and quarterback wristbands.
For the 2013 and 2014 seasons, Binker worked as a recruiting assistant coordinating on campus visits, building recruit profiles, managing Michigan’s recruiting database, and scheduling itineraries for coaches while they were on the road recruiting.
In the 2012 season, Binker began working for the Wolverines' program as a video intern.
Binker played running back for Division 3 Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania (2007-08), before transferring to the University of Miami (FL), where he earned his bachelor's degree in Sport Administration in 2011. In 2014, he earned his master's degree in Sport Management from Michigan's School of Kinesiology.
Binker attended high school at the St. Albans School in Washington D.C., where he served as a football team captain in his senior year.
