Andrew Magee has been named Associate Athletic Director. Magee’s promotion comes after serving the department as the Assistant Athletic Director for Football Administration since March 2019.
In his role, Magee is a member of the Senior Staff and acts as a sport supervisor for football, men's tennis, and women's tennis and leads the corporate sponsorship efforts of the department.
For football, Magee leads the day to day operations of the program, fundraises and secures sponsorships, supervises all academics, completes future game scheduling, and manages the program's budget.
On the development front, Magee has secured sponsorships with: Horseshoe Casino, Sheraton Hotels, Jason’s Deli, TicketSmarter, Mission BBQ, Zeke’s Coffee, HH Midtown Apartments, The Athlete Book, and more. He spearheaded the Bears' partnership with Optimum Nutrition, the new official protein provider of Morgan State Athletics. Magee also secured a new travel agency for the department, Omega Travel.
Supervising the academic support program for football, Magee has led the program to unprecedented heights in the classroom. The Bears achieved the highest single-year APR, a 970 for the 2018-2019 academic year, under Magee's leadership. The Bears earned the highest single-year GPA in program history as well as a 3.15 GPA for the 2020 spring semester, which included more than 50 football student-athletes earning a spot on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
Prior to arriving in Baltimore, Magee was a member of the Texas A&M athletics staff. During his time as a student-athlete academic mentor, Magee guided Aggie student-athletes to success in the classroom and in their post-athletic professional careers. Magee participated in football recruiting events for prospective student-athletes as well as a gameday outreach program to provide campus leaders insight into Texas A&M football operations.
While in College Station, Magee earned his Master's degree in Public Administration with concentrations in Education Policy and Management as well as State and Local Government from The Bush School of Government and Public Service, where he was awarded The Dean's Certificate of Leadership by retired Air Force General, Mark Welsh. Magee is currently pursuing his second Master's degree, an MBA from The Robert H. Smith School of Business at The University of Maryland, with a projected graduation date of May 2022.
A former two-sport student-athlete and the only Division I scholarship student-athlete to compete in football and tennis, Magee earned his Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Maryland and was a two-year letter winner as a fullback for the UCLA Bruins and a member of the 2009 Eagle Bank Bowl Championship team.
During his time as a student-athlete, Magee achieved Academic All Conference Honors, Dean's List recognition, and was a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
