Biography

Choo Choo Davis was selected to the 2005 Preseason All-MEAC First Team as a result of being one of the top strong safeties in the league...Davis is a tough defender, fierce tackler and enjoys making the big play...He has solid man-to-man cover skills and the coaching staff feels he will play a big role in the success of the Bears defense in '05...Davis needs to record six interceptions to break MSU's career interception record...

As a junior in 2004...Earned All-MEAC First Team honors...Collected 46 tackles and a team high five interceptions...Led the Bears in interceptions for the second consecutive season...

As a sophomore in 2003...Played in every game and finished the season as the team's third leading tackler...recorded 59 tackles (35 solo)...collected 2 tackles for a loss of 35 yards...ranked 2nd in the MEAC with 5 interceptions...blocked a field goal and recovered a fumble...

As a true freshman in 2002... "Choo Choö had an outstanding season as a true freshman...he was selected by the coaching staff as the team's Special Teams Player of the Year...he is a hard-hitter and completed the season with 4 tackles including a fumble return for 17 yards...

Won State Championship at Newport News HS...and finished with a 14-0 record under coach John Quillen where he played linebacker and wideout during his senior year...Finished his prep career with a 30-4 overall record in three seasons...Selected First Team Al-District...All-State...sociology major...athletic goal is to break MSU's interception record...career ambition is to become a school teacher.
