Morgan State Postgame Notes - Week 11

PLAYER NOTES:
• QB Chris Andrews completed 8-of-20 passes for 79 yards and was sacked five times.
• With 2 catches for 33 yards last week at Army West Point, senior WR Thomas Martin became the program’s first 1,000-yard receiver since Kelvin Dickens (1,019 yds in 2004). He has 1,014 career receiving yards.
• Freshman quarterback DeAndre Harris completed 3-of-6 passes for 17 yards. 
• Senior wideout Landen Malbrough led the Bears with four catches for 34 yards.
• R-senior running back Lamont Brown III led the Bears ground game with 20 yards (1.8 avg) on 11 carries, including a long of 6-yards.
• Sophomore William White finished with a game-high 10 stops and had a tackle for loss.
• Freshman linebacker Rico Kennedy recorded a season-best 8 tackles with a sack and a forced fumble. 
• Senior linebacker Greg Gibson posted seven tackles, including 2.5 tackle for loss and a sack. 
• Senior cornerback Deadrick Jones recovered a fumble.
• On special teams, sophomore Alex Raya connected on a 24-yard field goal in the second quarter.
• R-junior Chris Clack Jr. averaged 30.6 yards on a season-high 10 punts, including a 41-yard long and one inside the 20.
• Sophomore return specialist William King averaged 18.3 yards on three kick returns.
• In addition to a new tattoo, freshman Rico Kennedy wore No. 28 to honor his "best friend," Army's Brandon Jackson, who died in car crash earlier this season. "I miss him, I love him, and I'm always going to play for him," Kennedy said.

TEAM NOTES:
• Game Captains: Dominique Woods, Thomas Martin and Greg Gibson.
• Morgan State donned brand white tops and orange pants. They also wore the stars & stripes "M" helmet decal, along with the No. 28 in honor of Army's Brandon Jackson. 
• Morgan State won the toss and elected to receive.
• Morgan State’s offense totaled a season-low 124 yards, including 28 rushing yards.
• The Bears had five receivers with at least one catch.
• The Bears posted five tackles for loss; two sacks and two fumble recoveries.
• Army, the nation's No. 2 rushing offense, wound up with 504 yards, 561 total yards
• Morgan State recorded 8 first downs, and finished just 3-of-16 on third down conversions. 
• On special teams, the Bears gave up an average of 13.0 yards per kick return.
• With the loss, Morgan State trails in the series against Army now by a 2-0 margin. 
• The attendance at Michie Stadium for Army West Point's Senior Day was 28,290.
• Army had four scoring drives that took 5 or less plays.
• MSU interim head coach Fred T. Farrier's against Army West Point is 0-1.
• The weather was 59 degrees with sunny skies and 8 mph winds.
