Morgan State Postgame Notes - Week 8

PLAYER NOTES:
• Quarterback DeAndre Harris completed 18-of-34 passes for 161 yards. He also tossed a pair of TD passes (16, 17) to wideout Landen Malbrough. Harris' longest pass of the day was a 17-yard strike to Malbrough. Harris also fumbled, threw an interception, and was sacked three times.
• QB Chris Andrews entered the ballgame for two series in the fourth quarter. He tossed an interception on his 5th pass of the game.
• Senior wideout Landen Malbrough led the Bears with six catches for 75 yards, including two TDs.
• R-senior running back Lamont Brown III led the Bears with a game-high 66 yards (6.0 avg) on 11 carries, including a long of 15-yards.
• R-senior Herb Walker Jr. made his first appearance since being injured in game 1 of the season against Holy Cross. He finished with 8 carries for 42 yards (5.2 avg).
• Junior defensive lineman Jai Franklin posted a game-high 10 tackles, including 2.5 tackle for loss and a sack.
• R-junior safety Terry Harris recorded a season-best 9 tackles with a tackles for loss. It marked his first start of the season.
• Sophomore Tra Revell finished with six stops and had a forced fumble and fumble recovery in his first start of the season.
• On special teams, sophomore Alex Raya averaged 29.8 yards per punt, including a 59-yarder. He also had a 50-yard field goal attempt blocked in the 2nd quarter.
• R-junior Chris Clack Jr. entered the ballgame in the second half to handle punting duties. He averaged 33.7 yards on three punts, including a 36-yard long.
• R-junior Eric Alvis Jr. recorded a punt block for the Bears in the fourth quarter.
TEAM NOTES:
• Game Captains: Ayodeji Agbelese, Dominique Woods, Thomas Martin and Greg Gibson.
• Morgan State donned brand new BLUE adidas uniforms.
• Morgan State won the toss and elected to receive.
• Morgan State’s offense totaled a game high 307 yards, including 137 rushing yards.
• The Bears had nine receivers with at least one catch.
• The Bears posted 10 tackles for loss; two sacks and limited Norfolk State's offense to 81 rushing yards, 14 first downs, and just 5-of-16 on third down conversions.
• On special teams, the Bears gave up an average of 20.8 yards per kick return and 10.0 yards on three punt returns.
• With the loss, Morgan State trails in the series against Norfolk State now by a 20-11 margin. The Morgan State Bears have dropped 10 straight against the Spartans since 2007.
• The attendance at Hughes Stadium for Homecoming was 18,405.
• Norfolk State had three scoring drives that took 3 or less plays.
• MSU interim head coach Fred T. Farrier's against Norfolk State is 0-1.
• The weather was 71 degrees with sunny skies and 10 mph winds.
