Morgan State Postgame Notes - Week 7

PLAYER NOTES:
• Quarterback Chris Andrews completed 8-of-17 passes for 85 yards. He also tossed a 12-yard TD pass to wideout Ricky Fisk. Andrews' longest pass of the day was a 40-yard bomb to Manassah Bailey. Andrews also threw an interception on his third pass of the day.
• Senior wideout Amonta Poteat led the Bears with four catches for 33 yards.
• Sophomore running back Eric Harrell led the Bears with a game-high 121 yards (5.8 avg) on 21 carries, including a long of 57-yards.
• Senior cornerback Deadrick Jones posted a game-high 12 tackles, including a tackle for loss and a pass breakup.
• Junior defensive lineman Ayodeji Agbelese recorded a season-best 11 tackles with three tackles for loss and two sacks. He also had a forced fumble.
• On special teams, sophomore Alex Raya averaged 34.1 yards per punt, including a 49-yarder. He also had a 54-yard field goal attempt blocked in the 2nd quarter... and connected on field goal from 40 yards.
TEAM NOTES:
• Game Captains: Ayodeji Agbelese, Dominique Woods, Willie Gillus III and Greg Gibson.
• Morgan State donned brand new BLUE adidas uniforms.
• Morgan State won the toss and elected to kickoff.
• Morgan State’s offense totaled a game high 294 yards, including 158 rushing yards.
• The Bears posted eight tackles for loss; four sacks and limited North Carolina Central’s offense to 108 rushing yards and just 4-of-13 on third down conversions.
• On special teams, the Bears gave up an average of 10.0 yards per kick return and 16.7 yards on three punt returns.
• With the loss, Morgan State’s lead in the series against N.C. Central is now 24-15-2. The Morgan State Bears have won 6 of the last 10 meetings against the Eagles.
• NCCU has won the its last two meetings against the Bears (2015 & 2016).
• The attendance at Hughes Stadium for Homecoming was 8,534.
• North Carolina Central scored 14 points in just eight offensive plays to begin the contest.
• MSU interim head coach Fred T. Farrier's against N.C. Central is 0-1.
• The game was telecast live on MorganStateBears' Facebook Live.
• The weather was 58 degrees with partly cloudy skies and wind gusts between 25-35 mph.
