• Freshman wideout Brian Gentry received his first starting nod; he led the Bears with four catches for 51 yards, including a 17-yard TD catch… marking his first career TD.
• Senior quarterback Seth Higgins was inserted into the ballgame midway through the third quarter. It marked his first action on the field since the 2013 season. His 17-yard toss to Brian Gentry was the first TD he had thrown since tossing a TD pass to Grayling Harrison during the Bears 34-22 victory at North Carolina Central on Oct. 19, 2013.  Higgins completed 4-of-9 passes for 46 yards, including an interception. He also had 36 yards on the ground.
• Junior running back Orlando Johnson had 39 yards (3.0 avg) on 13 carries, while Lamont Brown III led the Bears ground attack with a season-high 58 yards (6.4 avg) on just nine carries.
• Dalonte Hall was lost on the first defensive play from scrimmage after suffering a head injury during a tackle on Redbirds running back Marshaun Coprich. Hall was carted off to the field and taken by ambulance to a local hospital where he was evaluated and released. Hall was replaced in the lineup by Eric Alvis Jr. who played most of the game and finished with three tackles.
• Senior linebacker Joel Scott, who was reinstated to the team on Friday, led the Bears with seven tackles, two tackles for loss and a quarterback hurry. The Bears also had five separate defenders record five total tackles.
• Sophomore Dalonte Jenifer recorded the Bears’ first sack of the season.
• On special teams, junior Chris Moller averaged 38 yards per punt, including a season-high 48-yarder. He also missed on a 19-yard field goal…his only attempt of the night. Ricky Fisk had three kick returns for 34 yards, including a season-high 27-yarder.

• The 67-points by the Redbirds was the most points on the road allowed by the Bears defense since a  65-15 loss at South Carolina State on Nov. 10, 2005
• The loss also marked the first time since 1992 that the Bears have allowed back-to-back 60-point games… The Bears lost to Air Force 63-7 in the season-opener. In 1992, the Bears lost on the road to Western Kentucky (63-13, Nov. 7), followed by Howard (68-21, Nov. 14)
