Bear Bits: currently on the watch list for the Fred Mitchell Award that is provided to the nation's top collegiate place-kicker among more than 600 FCS, Division II, Division III, and NAIA football teams... leads MEAC in scoring (35 points) and has scored 32 of the Bears 78 points so far this season... connected on field goals from 45 and 46 yards against Howard in the NYUL Football Classic at New Medowlands stadium (9/25) and was selected MEAC Special Teams Player of the Week... Booted in three field goals at North Dakota State (9/18) for the bears' only points of the game was selected College Football Performance Award Honorable Mention Placekicker of the Week... kicked a 39 yards FG against Maryland (9/4) for the Bear's only points in the game... broke the school's single game record for the most FGs made in one game with 4 bs. Bowie State and was selected MEAC Special Teams Player of the Week... has been a highlight for the Bears’ special teams unit as a result of his field-goal-kicking prowess ... should once again push for postseason honors … 

As a Junior in 2009: selected Second Team All-MEAC … averaged 61.5 on 39 kickoffs … made 9 of 12 field goals including 2 out of three from 50 yards or more … converted on 18 out of 21 PATs … tied a MEAC record by kicking a 55-yarder at Delaware State (Oct. 24, 2009). Scarlett was selected twice as MEAC Special Teams Player of the Week ...

connected on 17-of-23 extra point conversions and hit 2-of-8 field goals for the Falcons in 2008 …

High School: was a consistent punter at Potomac HS … in 11th grade he averaged 36.5 yards on punts including a 41-yard average in Potomac’s title game victory against South Carroll … he had 40 extra points and converted 4-of-7 field goals ... was a 2004 All-MET selection … 2005 All-County Defense First Team selection … 2005 All-State … though Potomac failed to defend its 2004 and 2005 state 2A championships, the senior averaged 36 yards per punt, including a long of 56 ... a first-team Star/Gazette kicker in 2005 … also saw time at receiver and free safety during ’05 season …

drew interest from Delaware, Kent State, Marshall and Stony Brook ... also was a member of the track & field team.
