BALTIMORE, Md. (April 11, 2026)--The Morgan State softball team returned home to host the reigning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) champion Howard on Saturday afternoon at Lois T. Murray Field.

Howard would sweep the doubleheader, defeating the Lady Bears 10-2 in six innings in the opening game and 5-2 in the nightcap.

The Bison (20-13, 13-1 MEAC) extended their winning streak to 11 straight and have won 13 consecutive MEAC series, dating back to the 2024 season. Howard also won its sixth straight over the Lady Bears to even the series at 28-28 dating back to the 2006 season.

Morgan State (8-22, 5-9 MEAC) dropped its fifth straight and has now lost its last two MEAC series.

Saturday's match-up featured the last two MEAC softball champions, who since the 2021 season have combined to win four of the last five titles. Morgan would claim the crown in 2021 and 2024, while Howard tasted victory in 2022 and 2025.

Game 1
Howard finished the game, scoring 10 runs on 11 hits and Morgan State finished with two runs on five hits.

Leading 3-0 heading into the third inning, the Bison added four more runs. Maryn Jordan doubled to score three runs to increase the Howard advantage to 7-0.

Trailing 8-0, Morgan State finally got on the board with a run in the fifth when
Rylee Hyde's sacrifice bunt scored
Olivia Pagano.

Howard rounded out its scoring when the Bison got two more runs in the sixth inning when Tori Trotter tripled to left field to score Taylor Ames Alexander and Cheyenne Castille, as the Bison increased their advantage to 10-1.

The Lady Bears final run of the game came in the bottom of the sixth when
Millie Cousins singled through the left side to score
Cassie White.

Jordan recorded two hits, scored a run and had a game-high 4 RBI for Howard. Castille finished 3-for-4 with a run and Amirah Lenon went 2-for-3 with two runs.

White paced Morgan State with two hits and a run. Pagano was 1-for-3 with a run.

Game 2
Howard's M Jordan finished with a game-high three hits, scored a run and had an RBI, while Taylor Ames-Alexander went 2-for-4 with a run and Amirah Lenon finished 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Morgan State was led by
Cassie White, who recorded two hits and an RBI.
Olivia Garner had a hit, RBI and a walk, while
Millie Cousins and
Jayla Campos each recorded a hit.

The Lady Bears jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the second inning on White's single which scored
Alison Keener.
Â
Howard would plate a run in the third and fourth innings on RBI singles to take a 2-1 lead. The Bison then added three more runs in the fifth inning to increase their advantage to 5-1.

Morgan State ended the scoring when Garner doubled to center field to score
Nia Lewis to cut the deficit to 5-2.
