ORANGEBURG, S.C. (Oct. 5, 2026)--For the second match in as many days, the Morgan State volleyball team forced a fifth set on the road.

This time the Bears completed the comeback, as they defeated South Carolina State 3-2 (23-25, 25-17, 21-25, 25-18, 15-13) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) match on Sunday afternoon at Dukes Gymnasium.

The win ended a two-match losing skid for the Bears, who improved to 3-13, 2-2 in the MEAC. South Carolina State dropped to 4-15, 0-4 MEAC. The loss was also the Lady Bulldogs' 121
st MEAC defeat in their last 124 contests.

Trailing 13-12 in the fifth set, Morgan State came out of the timeout and scored three straight points to secure the victory. Miller recorded a kill and Nathalia Morais got a service ace to give the guests a 14-13 lead. Morgan State closed the door on the Lady Bulldogs when sophomores Zayda Williams and
Tre'Niya Miller combined for a block to give Morgan the 15-13 victory and complete the comeback with a 3-2 victory over S.C. State.

Michaela Panekova led the way with a match-high 12 kills and
Jada Williams finished with eight kills.
Tameary Wardlaw posted 12 digs and
Isabelle Brown finished with 25 assists and three service aces.

The Bears will now head home and prepare for their annual Pink Match, as well as Homecoming contest on Friday, Oct. 9 when they welcome Delaware State to Hill Field House. First serve is at 6 p.m. and will air live on the MEAC Network.

Delaware State (12-6, 3-1 MEAC) is coming off a 3-0 victory at home over Norfolk State on Sunday.
