Bears Bring the Orange for Villanova Showdown

BALTIMORE, Md. (Oct. 2, 2026) -- The Bears are bringing the orange back.

Morgan State football has announced its uniform combination for Saturday's non-conference matchup against the Villanova Wildcats. The Bears will take the field in white helmets, white jerseys, and orange pants when they face Villanova at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 3, at Villanova Stadium.

The matchup will air live on ESPN+, with additional radio coverage on WEAA 88.9 FM.

The Bears last wore the white-and-orange combination on Oct. 25, 2025, against Howard in Washington, D.C., where Morgan State battled the Bison in a thrilling 33-27 setback at Greene Stadium.

In that contest, redshirt freshman quarterback Raymond Moore III completed 13 of 25 passes for 157 yards while adding 99 rushing yards and a touchdown. Freshman wide receiver Justin Perry recorded three receptions for 59 yards.

Defensively, Jordan Johnson II paced the Bears with a game-high 10 tackles, including eight solo stops. Rasheen Duncan added six tackles and a tackle for loss, while Erick Hunter finished with five tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble. Hiroshi Carr and Joshua Narh each recorded an interception.

Saturday's contest will mark just the second meeting between Morgan State and Villanova. The series began on Oct. 25, 2014, when the Wildcats defeated the Bears, 48-28, at Villanova Stadium.

Morgan State enters the matchup with a 3-1 record, marking the program's first 3-1 start since 2009, when the Bears opened that season 5-1 before finishing 6-5. The Bears will look to build on their strong start and secure the program's first victory over Villanova.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET at Villanova Stadium.
