Women’s Tennis Selected Fifth In MEAC Preseason Poll

NORFOLK, Va. (Jan. 14, 2026)--The Morgan State women's tennis team was picked to finish fifth in the 2026 Mid-Eastern Athletic (MEAC) Preseason poll, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
 
All awards were voted on by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors.
 
Reigning MEAC champion South Carolina State was named the preseason favorite to capture the MEAC regular season crown.
 
The Lady Bulldogs received seven first-place votes for a total of 78 points. North Carolina Central had 75 points and four first-place votes. Howard was picked third with 53 points, beating out Delaware State, which had one first-place vote and 52 points for fourth. Morgan State received 49 points to place fifth. Norfolk State earned a first-place vote and totaled 43 points for sixth, while Coppin State was seventh with 14 points.
 
Morgan State begins the season on Saturday, Jan. 17 when it travels to Morgantown, W.Va., to take on West Virginia.
