Morgan State–Delaware State Football Game Rescheduled for National Broadcast

BALTIMORE, Md. (September 18, 2025) -- Morgan State University has announced a schedule change for its upcoming Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) football contest against rival Delaware State. Originally slated for Saturday, November 8, the game will now be played under the lights at Hughes Stadium on Friday, November 7, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.

The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 or ESPNU, providing Morgan State the opportunity to showcase its program in front of a nationwide audience. The contest marks another primetime spotlight for the Bears, as the program continues to raise its profile on the national stage.

The change was announced on Thursday by ESPN and the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

This year's contest marks the 69th all-time meeting between Morgan State and Delaware State. The Bears lead the series 41-27 and have dominated the rivalry in recent years, winning 14 of the last 15 matchups since 2008, including a current six-game winning streak (2018–2024).

In the most recent matchup on Nov. 9, 2024, redshirt junior quarterback Duce Taylor tossed a touchdown pass, while redshirt freshman Jason Collins Jr. posted a season-high 138 rushing yards and a score, powering Morgan State to a 36-28 win at Alumni Stadium.

The last time the two teams squared off against each other at Hughes Stadium was in 2023 when Morgan State picked up a 24-17 victory on Nov. 4.

Morgan State head coach Damon Wilson added, "Playing in front of a national television audience is always special for our student-athletes. It's a chance to show the hard work they've put in all season, and we look forward to the atmosphere that Friday night lights at Hughes Stadium will bring."

Fans are encouraged to come out early and be part of the primetime experience as the Bears take on Delaware State in this important conference matchup.
