Cheer Bears take Top Bid at NCA Camp

BALTIMORE, Md. (Sept. 15, 2025) -- The Morgan State Cheer Team participated in the NCA College Camp, where they earned a Superior rating and secured a Silver bid to the 2026 NCA College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Since this was a commuter camp, the teams with the highest scores in their division earned the division prize — a Silver bid. Teams awarded a Silver bid receive two complimentary hotel rooms for five days, a reduced per-person registration fee, and priority in hotel assignments.

"I am extremely proud of this group," said Coach Theresa Gibson, reflecting on the team's performance. "They had very little time to prepare for the event, yet they came through on top. The bumps and bruises along the way didn't stop them from getting the job done. These young ladies should be proud of themselves, just as I am proud of them. I look forward to seeing what else this young team will accomplish."

Other participating teams included Loyola (Md.), American University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, George Mason University, NYU, and the University of Maryland Club Team. The camp, hosted at Loyola University, served as an alternative to the Myrtle Beach camp the Cheer Bears traditionally attend.
