HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (April 20, 2025)--The Morgan State women's tennis team concluded the regular season with a hard fought 4-3 non-conference loss at Hofstra on Saturday at the Hofstra Tennis Courts.

Morgan State fell to 5-17, while Hofstra improved to 4-15.

Morgan State's tandem of

Tyler Williams began the doubles action with a No. 2 victory over Hofstra's Abigial Higgins and Sabira Mohamed, 6-4. The host Pride then captured the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions.

After falling behind 2-0, following a loss at the No. 1 singles spot, the Lady Bears would win the next three contests to take their first lead of the day, 3-2.
Lauryn Hall earned a 6-4, 7-6 (5) victory over Mohamed at No. 2 and
Aleksandra Evdokimova tied the score at 2-2 with her win at No. e over Deniz Soyer 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.
Roua Limem put Morgan State ahead when she defeated Mary Madigan 6-4, 6-4 at No. 6.

Unfortunately, Morgan State was unable to pull out the victory as it had the remaining two contests at No. 4 and No. 5 go three sets, but in the favor of the Pride, who would win the match 4-3.

Morgan State will now focus on the upcoming Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championship, which will be held April 24-26 at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C. The Lady Bears will be the No. 6 seed in the championship and will face No. 3 Howard in the quarterfinal round on Thursday, April 24 at 11 a.m.
