The short story: South Carolina State ran away with a 90-62 victory Saturday night against Morgan State in front of an electric crowd at Smith-Hamilton-Middleton Memorial Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina State. Omar Croskey scored 316 points to lead the Bulldogs to their third straight win.
OPENING TIP
- Croskey shot 6-for-14 from the field, including 2-for-7 from 3-point territory, with four assists in 22 minutes. Jayden Johnson contributed 14 points (5-10 FG) with three assists.

THE DIFFERENCE
- Morgan State shot 32 percent (23-70) from the field, including 25 percent (4-16) from 3-point territory. The Bulldogs shot 51 percent (32-62) from the floor and was 10-for-22 from behind the arc.
- At the free-throw line, Morgan converted 70% (12-17) compared to SCSU's 84% (16-19).
- The Bulldogs held a 41-38 edge in rebounding, and outscored Morgan's bench by a 42-18 margin.
- The Bulldogs came out of the gate quickly establishing a 19-9 lead against Morgan by the first media timeout. Their aggressive play on both ends of the court showcased their relentless defense, making it difficult for the Bears to find any rhythm.
- However, despite the Bulldogs' dominant start, Kameron Hobbs emerged as a key player for the Bears, showcasing his scoring ability by notching 7 points in the early minutes, ensuring the game remained competitive as both teams adjusted to the high-stakes atmosphere on the court.
- Crosskey ignited the crowd a clutch 3-pointer, effectively doubling up the Bears with a score of 22-11. The Bears, refusing to back down, and mounted a 7-0 run that narrowed the gap to 22-18. However, Jayden Johnson hit a crucial jumper that halted Morgan's surge.
- As the game progressed, SCSU's offense reeled off an impressive 14-3 run, leaving the Bears scrambling to regain their footing. The highlight of the half came when McCarty, dubbed "Spiderman", soared through the air for a dunk that pushed the tally to 36-21.
- Dubinsky stepped back beyond the arc and launched a three-pointer that swished through the net, giving his team a commanding 46-29 lead. Just moments later, Crosskey stole the ball from Hobbs and sprinted down the court for a thunderous dunk that brought the score to 50-31, and a dunk by McCarty pushed the lead to 52-31 at the halftime break.

- With the loss, SCSU now leads the series record against the Bears 48-43.
- Morgan's road record falls to 0-11 and 0-3 against MEAC opponents.
- The loss drops Morgan's position in the conference standings, falling to 4-4 in league play.
