Morgan State Men’s Basketball Roll in Final Non-Conference Tune-Up

BALTIMORE, Md. (Dec. 30, 2025) – Alfred Worrell poured in a game-high 32 points as Morgan State cruised to a 92–55 victory over Penn State Brandywine on Tuesday night at Hill Field House. The win improved the Bears' record to 3–11 and snapped a three-game losing streak as they closed out their non-conference schedule. Brandywine fell to 6–7 overall, dropping its second straight contest against a Division I opponent.

OPENING TIP
• Worrell led the Bears with a game-high 32 points, shooting 8-for-11 from three-point range to tie the Morgan State single-game record of eight made three-pointers, previously held by former Bears great Reggie Holmes. He also pulled down a game-high six rebounds in just 27 minutes of action.
Elijah Davis secured a double-double in his first game back on the floor since playing at DePaul on Dec. 9.  Davis scored 17 points on 6-for-8 shooting and dished out 10 assists with three steals.
Rob Lawson scored 15 points with five boards, and Eugene Alvin added 11 points (3-4 3FG) with three rebounds and a blocked shot.
• Corwin Holland II led Brandywine with 14 points and knocked down 4-for-10 from the field, including five rebounds. Bryan Warren had 8 points, 6 boards, and three assists off the bench.

THE DIFFERENCE
• Morgan State shot 54 percent (30-of-56) from the field and went 16-of-28 from three-point range. Brandywine shot 36 percent overall and shot 6-of-20 from deep.
• The Bears converted 72 percent (16-of-22) from the free-throw line, while Brandywine struggled at 50 percent (9-of-18).
• 16 of Morgan State's 30 made field goals came from beyond the arc. The Lions pulled in 10 offensive rebounds, but the Bears held a 37-31 edge on the boards.
• Brandywine outscored the Bears 26-20 inside the paint.
Elijah Davis and Rob Lawson knocked down back-to-back three-pointers as the Bears jumped out to a 7–0 start. Penn State Brandywine responded when Javon Nelson scored on a layup to spark a 10–2 run, capped by a basket from Isaiah Johnson that tied the game at 15–15 with 12 minutes remaining.
• The game remained tight until the final minutes of the first half, when a 3-pointer by Holland trimmed Morgan State's lead to 27–25 with just under seven minutes remaining. The Bears then turned up the defensive pressure, as Lawson scored off an assist from Alvin Eugene to ignite a 22–7 run. A corner three-pointer by Walter Peggs Jr. sent Morgan into the break with a 49–32 advantage, its largest lead of the game.
• The Bears closed the half by knocking down eight of their final nine field-goal attempts.
• Worrell knocked down his record-tying eighth three-pointer at the 12-minute mark, pushing Morgan State's advantage to 72–39 and putting the game firmly out of reach.
• Morgan State continued to press the gas and outscored Brandywine 43-23 in the second half.
