Lady Bears Fall On The Road At No. 5 LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. (Dec. 16, 2025)--The Lady Bears' basketball team had the daunting task of facing the fifth-ranked Louisiana State (LSU) Tigers in front of nearly nine thousand energetic school-aged kids on Tuesday morning at Maravich Assembly Center.

Mikaylah Williams and Flau'Jae Johnson each scored a game-high 14 points to lead the host Tigers past Morgan State, 91-33 in LSU's annual field trip game. It was the first meeting between the two programs. MiLaysia Fulwiley came off the bench to add 11 points, while Jada Richard and Grace Knox each tallied 10 points. Kate Koval finished with a game-high five steals to go with nine points.

LSU, which began the season eclipsing the 100-point mark in its first eight wins, improved to 12-0 this season and 5-0 at home, following Tuesday's victory over Morgan State.

Despite the loss, the Lady Bears joined the likes of women's college basketball royalty programs Duke and Louisiana Tech, as the only three teams to hold the explosive Tigers under 100 points this season.

The Lady Bears (1-12) were led by Ja'la Bannerman and Michaela Bogan, who both finished with eight points. Success Prysock led the team with five rebounds and two steals.

The Tigers took advantage of their size, scoring 46 points in the paint. LSU also forced 25 Morgan State turnovers, which turned into 32 points. The hosts also held a 48-18 advantage in rebounds.

Morgan State will have a few days off before heading into another environment full of school-aged kids when it travels to North Carolina to face Davidson on Friday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m. for Education Day at Belk Arena.

Davidson (7-4) hosts High Point on Wednesday, Dec. 17 before facing the Lady Bears.
