Erick Hunter Named to Stats Perform FCS All-American Team

BALTIMORE, Md. (December 17, 2025) – Morgan State linebacker Erick Hunter earned Stats Perform FCS Second-Team All-American honors, as announced Wednesday.

Hunter's list of postseason honors continues to expand. Earlier this week, he was named an FCS Football Central All-American and earned All-MEAC First Team recognition. He was also selected as a Buck Buchanan Award finalist, received BOXTOROW HBCU All-American honors, and accepted an invitation to compete in The American Bowl—the inaugural college all-star game scheduled to air on the NFL Network on January 22, 2026.

A Capitol Heights, Md., native, Hunter opened the season as the MEAC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and exceeded expectations throughout the year. He started all 12 games and paced the conference with 102 total tackles, including 53 solo stops, while adding 14 tackles for loss and four sacks. Hunter also logged five quarterback hurries, forced four fumbles, and recorded an interception. Highlighting his standout season was a signature moment—a 90-yard blocked-kick return for a touchdown against Norfolk State.

Hunter further etched his name into Morgan State history by finishing his career ranked second on the program's all-time tackles list with 298 stops—an enduring mark of consistency, leadership, and impact in Baltimore.

Hunter was one of three players representing the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) on the All-American Team, joining DB Jarod Washington (South Carolina State) and RB Marquis Gillis (Delaware State).
