Women’s Basketball Falls To Johns Hopkins, 75-59

BALTIMORE, Md. (Nov. 18, 2025)--Morgan State's Maya Woodson pulled down a game-high 16 rebounds and scored 10 points to record a double-double, but it wasn't enough as Morgan State fell to local Division III powerhouse Johns Hopkins, 75-59 on Saturday evening at Hill Field House.

Morgan State fell to 1-4 with the loss, while the game was an exhibition for the eighth-ranked Blue Jays, whose record remained 5-0.

Woodson's 16 rebounds tied her career high, which she set in Morgan's last home contest against Washington Adventist (11/12). Gabrielle Johnson came off the bench to score 11 points.

Johns Hopkins was led by Lauren Knudson and Jocelyn Goldstein, who each scored nine points. Layla Henderson came off the bench to add nine points. Emily Collins came off the bench to pull down a game-high eight rebounds and added eight points on 4-of-6 shooting.

The Blue Jays came out on fire in the first quarter, shooting 10-for-15 from the floor (66.67 percent), including 5-of-6 from three-point range for 83.3 percent. Hopkins would also connect on all four of its free throw attempts.

After Goldstein converted a free throw to complete a three-point play and put the guests ahead 9-4 with 8:06 to play, Morgan State seemed to have settled down. The Lady Bears scored the next six points to take a 10-9 lead, following two free throws by Johnson.

But the Blue Jays responded with eight straight points in the midst of a 20-5 run to close out the opening period and take a 29-15 lead.

Hopkins' lead continued to grow, as the guests began the second period with a 7-0 run to extend the lead to 36-15. The Blue Jays, who held Morgan State to just seven points in the quarter, closed out on an 11-3 spurt to take a 49-22 halftime lead.

The Lady Bears finished the game shooting 33.8 percent from the floor (23-of-68) and was 2-of-15 (13.3 percent) from beyond the arc. Morgan would connect on 11-of-14 (78.6 percent) from the free throw line.

Morgan State will be off until Sunday, Nov. 23, when they travel to Washington, D.C. to take on George Washington. Tip-off is at 2 p.m. at the Charles E. Smith Center and will air live on ESPN+. The Revs (1-3) will first visit crosstown rival Georgetown on Friday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.
