BALTIMORE, Md. (March 13, 2024)--Morgan State's season came to an end on Wednesday afternoon, following a 49-44 loss to second-seeded Howard in the quarterfinal round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament at Norfolk Scope Arena.

Howard, which swept this season's series, improved to 6-0 all-time against Morgan State in MEAC Tournament history.

The seventh-seeded Lady Bears concluded the season with an 8-22 mark, while the Bison (14-15), who advanced to Friday's semifinal, will await the winner of Thursday's quarterfinal game between No. 3 North Carolina Central and No. 6 Delaware State.

Playing in her final game as a Lady Bear,
Joelle Johnson scored a team-high 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting and pulled down five rebounds in the loss.
Laila Fair recorded a game-high 10 rebounds and had a game-high three blocks. MEAC All-Rookie Team selection
Tamaria Rumph totaled seven rebounds, a game-high four assists and five points.

The two teams were deadlocked at 15 all after a quarter of play and the Bison held a 26-24 lead at the break.

Howard created distance in the third period, using a 9-3 spurt to take a 35-27 advantage with 3:24 left in the period. Howard, which outscored the Lady Bears 13-5 in the quarter, led by 10 (39-29) heading into the final period.

Howard was led by Iyanna Warren, who entered the contest needing 14 points to reach 1,000 for her career and finished with a game-high 15. Warren would add five rebounds, a game-high four assists and two steals. Kaniyah Harris totaled 10 points, while Nile Miller led the team with nine rebounds to go with three blocks, two steals and four points.
