BALTIMORE, Md. (November 7, 2024) -- This past Sunday, Morgan State University Athletics Student Intern Emmanuel Durojaiye had an extraordinary opportunity to attend the NBCU Academy X NFL Experienceship at the Denver Broncos vs. Baltimore Ravens game.
The experience offered Emmanuel a rare behind-the-scenes view of game day operations, providing a firsthand look into the intricate work that drives professional sports.
Emmanuel met influential leaders like Sashi Brown, President of the Baltimore Ravens; Damani Leach, President of the Denver Broncos; and Stephen Wyche, a well-known NFL Network sideline reporter. Each conversation offered insights into the diverse paths and leadership skills needed in the sports industry.
A defining moment of Emmanuel's Experienceship was his interaction with Simon Gelan, Vice President of Operations for the Baltimore Ravens and a fellow Morgan State University alumnus.
Gelan, who launched his career as a student member of the athletics equipment team, shared how his time at Morgan helped shape his professional journey.

Emmanuel was inspired by Mr. Gelan's story.
"Talking to Simon made me feel inspired," said Duriojaiye. "Seeing someone who attended Morgan State and was also deeply involved in the athletics department showed me just how far I can go in this industry and reaffirmed my future goals."
As one of the co-founders and creative directors of Morgan's athletics media team, "MSU Creatives," Emmanuel has watched his vision evolve from a small initiative into a robust production team with over 30 student interns.
Reflecting on the journey, he shared, "Watching the MSU Creatives team grow from just myself and my mentor, Randy Brent, to now a full production team of 30+ student interns is a testament to all the hard work and dedication we've invested."
"What makes it special is looking back to where we started, when I had no idea how to use a camera, to now teaching others. It shows not only how far we've come but also the potential we can reach in the future."
For Emmanuel, this growth isn't just personal. He is proud to create a platform that nurtures others' interests in sports and media, leaving a lasting impact on the university. By building a space where students can cultivate skills, learn collaboratively, and explore their passions, he knows he is making a meaningful contribution to Morgan State's athletics legacy.
