BALTIMORE, Md. (Nov. 10, 2024)--Fresh off a tough upset loss on Homecoming Sunday to South Carolina State, Morgan State's upcoming matchup promises to be an intense battle, as the Bears prepare to face off against their Beltway rivals, the Howard Bison, on Friday, October 11, at 6 p.m. at Burr Gymnasium in Washington, D.C. This match brings a heightened sense of anticipation, as the Bears aim to disrupt the Bison's perfect Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) record.
 
Howard enters the contest with a strong 10-5 record overall and an undefeated 4-0 record in the conference. The Bison, who have yet to lose a set in MEAC play, have won four straight matches and are riding high on momentum after a dominant 3-0 sweep of Maryland Eastern Shore on the road last Sunday. 
 
For the Bears, standout performer Daniela Ferreira had a remarkable showing in their last match against South Carolina State, achieving a match-best .394 hitting percentage and recording a match-high 17 kills. While her efforts weren't enough to overcome the Lady Bulldogs, she'll be a key player to watch as Morgan State seeks to bounce back and secure a critical victory.
 
With their undefeated conference record on the line, Howard will certainly be a tough opponent. However, Morgan State is heading into this rivalry match with a renewed focus and determination to hand the Bison their first conference loss. 
 
Howard won all three contests last season and has won nine straight over Morgan State to lead the all-time series, 45-41.
