Box Score MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Feb. 25, 2023)--The West Virginia women's tennis team knocked off visiting Morgan State on Saturday afternoon, 6-1 in non-conference action at the Summit Tennis Academy.

West Virginia (7-3) won the doubles points, by winning two of the three matches and then proceeded to win five of the six singles contests for the final score.

After dropping the No. 3 doubles contest to begin doubles action, Morgan State (1-5) evened it up when
Asmara Rose and
Hannah Smith earned a 6-2 victory over Michaela Kucharova and Momoko Nagato at No. 1. West Virginia would then win the doubles point with a 6-3 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Anabel Aran Torrente earned Morgan's lone point for the afternoon, when she defeated West Virginia's Catherine Wassick at No. 6 singles 6-2, 6-0.

The Lady Bears will be off until next Saturday, March 4, when they host Le Moyne College (N.Y.) at 8:30 p.m. at Coopermine Bare Hills.
