MARYLAND PUBLIC TELEVISION TO BROADCAST TOWSON-MORGAN STATE FOOTBALL GAME SEPT. 10, KICKOFF MOVED TO 7 P.M.

BALTIMORE, Md. ➖ The 2022 Battle for Greater Baltimore football game between Towson University and Morgan State University on September 10 at Johnny Unitas® Stadium will be televised on Maryland Public Television (MPT). Kickoff has been moved from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. to accommodate the broadcast.

MPT is a public television network that comprises six stations that broadcast throughout Maryland as well the District of Columbia and portions of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. MPT is the only statewide broadcaster in Maryland.
 
MPT will be using the Towson Sports Network feed for the broadcast with Spiro Morekas (play-by-play) and Gordy Combs (analyst) calling the action. The game will also be streamed on FloSports.com, the exclusive broadcast home of Colonial Athletic Association athletics, and on the MPT livestream at https://www.mpt.org/anywhere/live-stream-mpt/.
 
The two schools, separated by 4.4 miles, have met on the football field 26 times since 1979 with Towson holding a 20-6 advantage. The Tigers have won four straight in the series, including a 31-0 road victory in 2021. Morgan's last win against Towson was a 12-9 decision at Hughes Stadium on Sept. 26, 2009. This year's contest begins a new six-year contract through 2027.

The 2022 edition of Morgan State's Football program will begin when they travel to face Georgia Southern on Saturday, September 3. The Bears home-opener will be on Saturday, September 17 when they host Sacred Heart at Hughes Stadium. 
 
The Bears will take on Norfolk State for Homecoming on Saturday, October 8 to open Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action.
