Women’s Tennis Visits Howard in MEAC Action

BALTIMORE, Md. (April 1, 2022)--The Morgan State women's tennis team will visit Beltway and Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) foe Howard on Saturday at the Banneker Recreation Center in Washington, D.C. The Lady Bears will look to spoil Howard's Senior Day. First serve is slated for 2 p.m.

Morgan State (4-7-1, 3-0 MEAC) enters the contest coming off a 7-0 non-conference road loss to Temple on Wednesday. The host Owls swept all three doubles matches and then claimed all six of the singles contests to earn the win.

Howard (7-3, 4-0 MEAC) has won a season-long five straight matches, following its 6-1 defeat of Coppin State (0-11, 0-5 MEAC) in a MEAC match on Friday. It's Howard's longest winning streak since 2015. The Bison won the doubles point, but Coppin evened the score at 1-1 with a No. 1 singles win. Howard then won the next five singles matches all in straight sets to earn the 6-1 victory.
